Master and PhD Full Scholarships by French Government for Indonesian Citizens (0)

The French Government, through its Embassy in Jakarta, has been providing excellence scholarships to Indonesian citizens for more than 29 years. In order to pursue its objective to support Indonesian human resources, the French Embassy will offer scholarships for the year 2010. Those scholarships are given to government officials, lecturers, students, with a priority to those involved in a cooperation program between France and Indonesia, to undertake two kinds of training:
- Master degree (full scholarship)
- Doctoral degree (18 months full scholarship)

World Press Institute Fellowships for Journalists, USA (0)

The World Press Institute Fellowship is offered to 10 journalists from countries around the world. It provides immersion into the governance, politics, business, media, journalistic ethics and culture of the United States for experienced international journalists, through a demanding schedule of study, travel and interviews throughout the country.

The 2011 program will begin in mid August and end in mid-October. The fellows will spend a month in Minneapolis- St. Paul, Minnesota, and then travel to several U.S. cities, including New York and Washington, D.C., for briefings, interviews and visits. They will returned to Minnesota for the final week of the program. See the 2010 Schedule for information on the 2010 fellowship and example of WPI events.

Journalism — in particular, the role and responsibilities of a free press in a democracy— is the primary focus of the WPI fellowship program. First-hand knowledge of the complexity and diversity of life in the U.S. is an equally important goal. Access is the key. Over the term of the fellowship, WPI fellows gain access to a broad range of individuals and institutions ranging from the world renowned to the ordinary.

Eligibility:

* At least five (5) years full-time employment in print, broadcast, or online journalism.
Journalists can work for news or editorial departments of newspapers, wire services, radio, television, web sites, online publications or magazines of general public interest.
Photojournalists, editorial cartoonists, columnists and broadcast producers are also eligible.
Those who supervise journalists are eligible providing that they also have at least five years as a working journalist.
Any journalism-related work completed as a university student does not count toward experience. People who work in public relations or at organizations whose primary business is not the media are not eligible.
* Must be currently employed as a non U.S. journalist working outside of the United States.
* Fluency in both written and spoken English.
* Potential for leadership

Who is eligible?
Any non U.S. journalist working outside of the United States with at least five years of professional journalistic experience in any medium. The program is open to journalists and photojournalists from newspapers, newsmagazines, wire services, radio, television and online news organizations.

Are there minimum and maximum age limits for WPI Fellows?
No.

Are freelancers eligible for the program?
Yes, as long as they meet the minimal requirement of five years’ experience and are currently working as a journalist.

Are Fellows paid a stipend?
IRP Fellows receive a modest per diem to cover such things as meals. Hotel accommodations and fellowship -related travel are paid for.

Are WPI Fellows required to produce news stories during the fellowship?
Yes. Each WPI Fellow is expected to write for the World Press Institute Reports (blog) and produce up to three news story for WPI’s online partners during the program. It is up to each Fellow and his or her news organization whether they will produce articles for publication back home.

Does the program provide health insurance coverage for Fellows?
Yes. It is basic policy that covers emergency care but not such things as elective surgery or dental care.

Can spouses or families accompany the fellows?
Not during the fellowship program.

INTERNATIONAL LEADERSHIP IN EDUCATION PROGRAM (ILEP) 
The International Leaders in Education Program (ILEP) is a program of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State, and is implemented by IREX (the International Research & Exchanges Board), a Washington, DC based non-profit organization.
ILEP will consist of a semester-long academic program at a U.S. university, including coursework and intensive training in teaching methodologies, lesson planning, teaching strategies for their home environment, teacher leadership, as well as the use of computers for internet, word processing and as tools for teaching. 
The semester-long program, which will commence in January 2012 and conclude in May 2012, will also include an internship at a secondary school to engage participants actively with the American teachers and students.
The Fellowship provides:
A pre-departure orientation held in Indonesia
Round-trip airfare to and within the U.S.
A Welcome Orientation in Washington, DC
Academic program fees
Housing (generally shared with other program fellows)
Accident and sickness insurance

Opening: UWC South East Asia 2011 Scholarship Program for NAD

We are opening 2 scholarships for UWC South East Asia, Singapore 2011 intake for students from Nangroe Aceh Darussalam, funded by Trafigura Foundation. This scholarship started in 2006 and was established initially to support children whose education was disrupted by the tsunami and is also aimed at building a post-conflict Aceh

The selection will be opened in January 3rd to January 28th, 2011. The winners will get 3 years full scholarships at the UWC SEA started from August 2011.

These are the basic selection criteria:

Academic:

Academic result average with minimum 8.0 out of 10.0 (calculated from the 1st semester of year 7 up to the 1st semester of year 9 of of Junior High School/SMP).

General Requirement:

Indonesian citizens age between 14 – 16 (currently in 3rd year of Junior High School or SMP)
Completed and signed application form
Achievements in Extra curricular activities
Completed reference forms from two referrers (see application form)
2 recent passport-size (4 x 6) colour photographs

Certified copy of documents:

Academic transcripts or report card from the first year until the last completed quarter/semester of Junior High School or SMP;

Prosedur Registrasi Mahasiswa Baru (UPI) (0)


Seperti biasa, selesai semester mahasiswa akan disibukan dengan proses registrasi untuk semester baru. Untuk mahasiswa Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, berikut ada beberapa curhatan yang mudah-mudahan bermanfaat:
1. Pastikan bahwa rekening Bank BNI teman-teman aktif.
2. Untuk pembayaran dilakukan secara otomatis dengan autodebet dari saldo sehingga kita tinggal menabung di nomor rekening BNI yang dibuatkan oleh universitas khusus, rekening mahasiswa. (Bisa dengan menabung ataupun transfer, yang penting terdapat saldo di rekening yang cukup untuk di potong sejumlah uang SPP.)
3. Setelah uang ada di rekening, nanti BNI akan memotong saldo secara otomatis, kita tinggal print buku tabungan, jika terdapat transaksi auto debet sejumlah uang SPP, maka itu berarti kita sudah melakukan pembayaran SPP. (photocopy buku tabungan, karena itulah tanda bukti pembayaran SPP rekan-rekan.)

Jika bisa usahakan pembayaran diawal-awal, pembayaran bisa di BNI manapun, begitu juga print buku tabungannya asalkan sudah On Line. *Selamat mengantri dan bersesak-sesak... :D Labels:

* Candidates must not be currently working or studying abroad;
* Successful candidates must return to China upon completion of their studies and/or research;

I. LATAR BELAKANG
Dalam rangka memberi kesempatan kepada Putra/Putri Terbaik Indonesia untuk melanjutkan pendidikan ke Jenjang Strata 1 (S1) maka Universitas Mercu Buana memberikan beasiswa kepada 200 Orang yang terdiri dari 2 (dua) Jenis Beasiswa, yaitu Beasiswa Unggulan dan Beasiswa Prestasi.

II. JENIS BEASISWA
A. PROGRAM BEASISWA UNGGULAN
Beasiswa ini diberikan dalam bentuk bebas biaya studi selama masa studi di Universitas Mercu Buana yaitu 8 semester (4 tahun). Jumlah penerima beasiswa ini adalah 50 Orang.
1. Warga Negara Indonesia
2. Siswa kelas 3 atau lulus SMA/K pada tahun 2011
3. Jalur akademik : Memiliki nilai rata-rata raport lebih besar dari 7.50, termasuk 10 siswa terbaik di kelas selama 4 semester dan lolos seleksi.
4. Jalur non-akademik: Juara kompetisi tingkat nasional untuk berbagai bidang (bukti sertifikat) atau Hafal 30 Juz Juz Al Quran (dibuktikan dengan sertifikat dari lembaga yang diakui)
ATURAN TAMBAHAN:
  1. Penerima beasiswa harus menyelesaikan kuliah dalam kurun 4 tahun akademik
  2. Siswa yang mendapatkan nilai IPK di bawah 3.00 pada semester berjalan, maka tidak mendapat beasiswa pada sementer berikutnya.
  3. Nominasi ini akan gugur dengan sendirinya apabila siswa tidak lulus UAN.
  4. Tidak sedang atau akan menerima beasiswa lain.
  5. Bagi yang tidak lolos seleksi maka dimasukkan kedalam Program Beasiswa Prestasi.
  6. Bagi yang tidak masuk nominasi Program Beasiswa Unggulan akan diikutkan Program Beasiswa Prestasi.

HongKong Scholarship in Lingnan University 2011
Undergraduate scholarship program to Hong Kong in Lingnan University 2011.
Overseas Student Scholarships of HK$120,000 (i.e. about US$15,385) each per
academic year will be awarded to successful applicants, covering tuition fee,
hostel and other academic and living expenses.
Each scholarship is offered on an annual renewable basis and is tenable for a
period of up to 3 years, subject to continued outstanding academic performance.
Eligibility
Non-local applicants (other than Hong Kong and the Chinese Mainland citizens)
should have attained at a recognised post-secondary institution outside Hong
Kong an equivalent qualification to the Admission Requirements of the
University, as stipulated below:

a degree, an associate degree or a diploma awarded by a recognised
post-secondary institution;
an International Baccalaureate Diploma;
satisfactory completion of the first year in a four-year undergraduate
curriculum or the first year of an associate degree programme of a recognised
institution;
satisfactory completion of two years of full-time study in a post-Form Five
institution, e.g. a technical institute; or
other equivalent qualifications which the University will consider on a
case-by-case basis.
They may be required to achieve:
a minimum of Grade C in English in the GCE O-Level or GCSE Examination or an
equivalent public examination; or
a TOEFL score of 213 in the computer-based test, or 550 in the paper-based test,
or 79 in the internet-based test; or
an IELTS overall band score of 5.5.
Non-local applicants who enter Hong Kong for the purpose of education should
make sure that they are eligible to apply for a student visa/ entry permit
issued by the Director of Immigration of the HKSAR Government to stay in Hong
Kong for the entire period of study at the University. The University will
provide assistance as far as possible.
