We are delighted to announce nine funded PhD studentships* in social sciences at Brunel Universityfor UK, EU and international students for a January 2012 start, (or as soon as possible thereafter).
The School of Social Sciences is providing opportunities for promising academic talent to undertake doctoral study. This is a significant opportunity for those who show academic excellence in our areas of expertise.
Successful applicants will be awarded £12,372 per annum over three years, which includes a fee-waiver of £3,732 and a stipend of £9,000. In exceptional cases an additional fee contribution for international students may be available.
In return, students will be required to undertake up to 150 hours of teaching/academic work per year. This is an excellent opportunity for students to gain valuable experience for their future academic career.

Selection criteria
In addition to applicants having to meet the subject’s normal entry criteria, the School’s Studentship Selection Panel will be reviewing applications to ensure that the research topic proposed is of excellent quality, well developed, coherent and achievable within the three years. The Panel is seeking candidates who have demonstrated significant progress in their academic career so far.

China Government Scholarship for Master & PhD, Nanjing University (0)


Chinese Government Scholarship is a scholarship set up by the Chinese government to facilitate students and scholars from all over the world to conduct their study and research in Chinese universities. The scholarship aims to increase the mutual understanding and friendship between people of China and people from the rest of the world and to develop the communication and cooperation between China and the rest of the world in the field of EducationTechnology, Culture and Economics.
From the year 2008 under approval of the Ministry of Education of China, Nanjing University will start to offer Chinese Government Scholarships to outstanding master or PhD students. Nanjing University is one of the top universities in China under the direct supervision of Ministry Education of China. Nanjing University was founded in the year 1902 and it is well-known for its strong academic portfolio and outstanding professors.
Nanjing University is located in the heart of a historical city Nanjing. It is surrounded by a beautiful scenery, excellent environment and accessible transportation. The University is currently host to 23 schools and 65 departments offering 162 majors for master degrees and 93 PhD degrees. A master degree takes 3 years while a PhD degree takes 3 to 4 years. Nanjing University uses a credit system, acquiring the total number of credits for the degree and successfully passing the oral defense of the Graduation Paper for a student to graduate.
QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Academic Background: Applicant must have completed a four-year undergraduate degree for master degree pursuer and a master degree or equivalent for PhD degree pursuer.
  2. Chinese Language: Applicant must be willing to learn Chinese language, if applicable, and receive education in Chinese language.
  3. Health: Applicant must be mentally and physically healthy.
Students currently studying in China are not applicable. Students who have been granted for other Chinese scholarship or funding(2012-2013) are not applicable.
TERM OF SCHOLARSHIP 
Scholarship will be tenable for three years and four years from the date of award for masters’ degree and PhD degree, respectively. One-year preparatory education in Chinese language prior to grantees’ study of his major will be provided with full scholarship benefits if deemed necessary.
SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS
  1. Allowance: Grantee will be provided a monthly stipend of RMB 1,700 and RMB 2,000 for masters’ degree student and PhD degree student, respectively.
  2. School Fees: Fees for matriculation and tuition will be paid by the Chinese government.
  3. Health Insurance: A health insurance will be provided to the grantee by CSC for the entire duration of his/her scholarship.
  4. Accommodation: A free accommodation will be provided to a grantee in the International Dormitory of the University for the entire duration of the scholarship.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
Applicants must log on the on-line application system to do an on-line registration and application(laihua.csc.edu.cn). After fill in the application form on-line (facility code for Nanjing University is 10284), applicant must click the “submit” button and print out application from the application system. After the on-line application is complete, applicants must submit the following documents to the Scholarship Coordinator (address below) by the required date. The submitted documents will not be returned.
  1. Printed Applicationform with recent photograph
  2. Certified true-copy of Academic transcript and Diploma of highest degree obtained (English Translation is need if transcript and diploma were in language other than Chinese and English)
  3. Two recommendation letter from adviser/professor of the last school attended
  4. Medical certificate
  5. Printed “Code for International Scholarship Students of Nanjing University” with applicant’s signature.
The above documents must be written in English. Any document written in any other language must be attached with an English or Chinese translation.

Master & PhD Scholarships in Mathematical Science, National Autonomous University of Mexico (0)


A number of fully funded PhD and Masters scholarships are available within the Joint PostgraduateProgram in Mathematical Science of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), Campus Morelia, and the Michoacan University of San Nicolas of Hidalgo.
The PhD scholarships are tenable for up to 3 years and have a stipend of 10,768 Mexican Pesos per month (770 US Dollars, equivalent to six Mexican minimum wages). The Masters scholarships are tenable for up to 2 years and have a stipend of 8,076 Mexican Pesos per month (577 US Dollars, equivalent to four and a half Mexican minimum wages). Health coverage will be provided by the Mexican social security system.
Applicants should have or expect to gain a university degree in Mathematics or related discipline with an average of 8 or higher on a 10 point scale. Non- Spanish speakers are expected to become proficient in Spanish within two years.
The preferred starting date is 7th February 2012. Deadline for applications is 3rd November 2011. The entrance exam is scheduled for 5th November 2011. Foreign students are required to arrange for a faculty member to supervise the exam at their home institution.
A complete application includes a cover letter addressed to the Comité Académico del Posgrado en Matemáticas specifying contact details, CV, copies of university degrees, a copy of an identity document (passport, driving licence, etc), and contact details of two academic referees. The European Masters in Lifelong Learning: Policy and Management (MALLL) is a multi-site two-year programme, which was established in 2006 under the Erasmus Mundus Scheme. Since then this truly international programme has recruited students and scholars from over 40 countries around the world.
The programme aims at training professionals to develop and implement educational policies concerned with lifelong learning. Graduates of MALLL will be able to promote and manage innovative lifelong learning systems that are suited to the social and organsiational contexts in which they are undertaken.

Admission and scholarships
The European Masters in Lifelong Learning: Policy and Management (MALLL) programme welcomes applications from students arround the world. You can apply as a self-funded student or you can apply for an Erasmus Mundus scholarship. Please look at the navigation menu on the left to see more details.
For all categories, your application must include the following documents:
  • Application form
  • Certified copies of academic transcripts (translated into English)
  • EUROPASS CV
  • English language proficiency test certificate
  • An academic qualification essay based on research literature on any aspect of lifelong learning

  • Two recommendation letters from former/current supervisors of which one must be academic referee.
Category A Scholarships (for third-country students)
The European Commission offers a limited number of Erasmus Mundus Category A scholarships for 3rd country (non-EU) students. A Category A scholarship is €48,000 which covers two-year tuition fee of Euro 16,000 and living allowances to study the MALLL programme.
Category A scholarships can be awarded to students from all countries other than the 27 EU member states and EEA/EFTA states: Iceland, Lichtenstein and Norway. Furthermore, you must comply with the 12 months rule: You must not be a resident nor have carried out main your activity (studies, work, leisure time etc.) for more than a total of 12 months over the last five years in one of these countries.
Category B Scholarships (for European students)
The European Commission offers a limited number of Erasmus Mundus Category B scholarships for European students.
Category B scholarships can be awarded to any student who do not fullfil the criteria for a Category A scholarship i.e nationality requirement and 12 months rule.
A category B scholarship covers tuition fee and living allowance of € 500 per month for two years. Additional € 3000 is availbale for the mobility period in Melbourne.
Deadline
The deadline for Erasmus Mundus scholarship applications for the academic year 2012-2013 is: 16 January 2012
Application results
  • The applicants, who are not selected for the scholarships, receive notification by email in March.
  • The scholarship applicants on the main list and reserve list receive the final results of their applications in late April /early May after the Consortium has received the final approval on selection from the European Commission.
  • When a main list student withdraws, he/she is replaced by the first eligible candidate on the reserve list. In this particular case, the eligibility criterion concerns the nationality of the reserve list candidate and the rule concerning the presence of a maximum of two nationals from the same country among the scholarship holders for a given category. If there are already two other students with the same nationality on the main list, the consortium will have to take the next eligible candidate respecting its own ranking list (European Commission’s regulations).

Tangan ini tidak menyentuh tombol-tombol hitam, cukup hampir satu abad terkurung dalam kebiasaan sombong tidak mau berbagi. Dan sekarang saatnya kembali berbagi, melihat blog teman yang tiap hari hidup, serasa membakar diri ini untuk kembali menulis. Salam hangat dan semoga engkau kelak menjadi penulis kawan, Anugerah, Dini, Monalisa, dan semua kawan penulis yang telah aku baca tulisan nya.  Mudah-mudahan ini menjadi awal semangat untuk menulis kembali.

Bisa jadi ini semacam cerita;
Besok adalah hari pertarungan yang akan menjadi awal ukiran kesuksesan, akan kembali bergulat dengan soal-soal TOEFL ITP untuk persyaratan aplikasi beasiswa yang selama ini terdaftar dalam deretan panjang peta kehidupan.  Memang tidak ada yang berbeda jika akan menghadapi test semacam itu, hanya saja persiapan adalah hal yang paling utama. Apa yang harus disiapkan sebelum test TOEFL? Tentu saja banyak dan pasti berbeda-beda, ini adalah persiapan saya menuju test TOEFL besok, semoga bermanfaat;
1. Niat yang lurus; memamang tidak ada keterkaitan yang pasti antara niat dengan kesuksesan dalam menghadapi soal yang ada. Tapi sejauh ini saya merasakan bahwa niat yang lurus untuk mendapatkan kebaikan dari test TOEFL menjadi sebuah pompa yang membuat saya siap untuk menghadapi test. Mari kita luruskan niat kembali, mudah-mudahan kita mendapatkan kemudahan dan kebaikan dalam mengerjakan test yang ada, aaaamiiin...
2. Latihan soal TOEFL;  setelah niat yang lurus, saatnya berlatih soal TOEFL bisa secara online ataupun dari buku. TOEFL sendiri banyak jenis nya, pilihlah soal dan jenis TOEFL yang disyaratkan. Latihan ini adalah kunci dari suksesnya test kita, meski semuanya akan kembali pada kehendak-Nya, mudah-mudahan kita selalu diberikan kebaikan selalu, aaaaamiiiin...
3. Berdoa, mohon Doa Orang Tua, keluarga, guru-guru dan teman-teman; persiapan latihan sudah maksimal, maka saatnya kita berdoa kepada yang Maha Kuasa atas segala sesuatu. Semoga Allah yang Maha Memudahkan segala sesuatu memberikan kemudahan bagi kita selalu, dan TOEFL kita sukses, aaamiiiin... Selain itu, jangan lupa untuk meminta doa dari orang tua, keluarga, guru-guru dan teman-teman, mudah-mudahan kita diberi kebaikan dalam menyelesaikan test yang akan dihadapi, aaaamiiin...
4. Persiapakan fisik, mental dan peralatan test; setelah tiga tahapan awal yang tadi terlaksana, sangat baik jika kita mempersiapkan fisik dan mental untuk bertempur. Maka dari itu mari kita akhiri seksi cerita kali ini dengan doa, semoga apapun yang kita harapkan dapat terwujud dengan kemudahan dan kebaikan dari-Nya, aaaamiiiin...

The purpose of the Education for Sustainable Energy Development (ESED) scholarship is to support outstanding students pursuing advanced studies in sustainable energy development and to encourage meaningful contributions to the collective body of knowledge about this subject.
The Global Sustainable Electricity Partnership considers an outstanding student to be one who:
  • graduates with excellent grades in the top 20% of her/his class
  • is determined to advance her/his knowledge and understanding
  • has a history of community involvement
  • is committed to sustainable energy
  • is committed to return and contribute to her/his home country
Who is eligible?
To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, students must
  • plan to undertake studies at the Masters level in areas directly related to sustainable energy development
  • be citizens of the developing countries and territories identified for OECD official development aid in the DAC List of ODA Recipients
What are the levels of financial assistance and the duration of the scholarships?
Scholarships of US$ 23,000 per year for up to two years are offered for Masters level students. Up to ten Masters scholarships will be awarded annually.

Key Dates
The ESED Masters Scholarship deadline is March 9, 2012. All documents must arrive at the Partnership’s General Secretariat by the deadline. All documents arriving after the deadline will not be considered.
How are applications judged?
An Academic Panel consisting of accomplished representatives from Europe, North America and Japanwill review the applications. All selections are final and all applicants will be notified.
How will I receive the funds?
Awards will be directly deposited (in US$) into the accounts of the Institution where you are enrolled and provided to you on a regular basis as long as you are making satisfactory progress toward achieving your academic or research requirements.
What are my obligations to the Partnership if I am selected?
You are expected to complete your degree or your research, update the organization about your progress and publish your results. You are required to acknowledge the Partnership’s support when publishing or making presentations on your research and results. We may ask you to present your results at a Partnership function, in which case your out of pocket expenses incurred to make the presentation will be covered by the organization.

Research Fellowship Programme for Foreign Citizens, Turkey (0)


Travel and research grants in the fields of Natural Sciences, Engineering and Technological Sciences, Medical Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, Social Sciences and Humanities will be awarded to highly qualified PhD students and young post-doctoral researchers to perform part of their research in Turkey.
ELIGIBILITY
  1. Be a non-Turkish citizen (people who have dual citizenship are not eligible)
  2. Be accepted by one of the universities or research institutes in Turkey
  3. Certify that he/she has sufficient command of language in which the research will be pursued
  4. For PhD students: be enrolled in a PhD programme abroad
  5. For post-doctoral researchers: be at the age of 35 or under the age of 35
  6. PhD degree with GPA minimum 3.50/4.00 for post-doctoral researchers who got their PhD degrees from Turkish universities
DURATION OF AWARD
Maximum duration of this fellowship is 12 months.
VALUE OF AWARD
Maximum living allowance for this fellowship is 2.250 TL/month. If it is approved by TÜBITAK – Department of Science Fellowships and Grant Programmes (BIDEB) Evaluation and Support Commission, travel costs and health insurance may be partially covered.

APPLICATION
Online applications must be made at: http://ebideb.tubitak.gov.tr. Online applications must be made until 6 p.m. on the application deadline since the system will be automatically closed at 6 p.m.
After the online application form is filled and the documents above are uploaded, the applicant must sign the printout of the form and send it to TUBITAK-BIDEB along with the documents above.
Applications not fulfilling cited conditions, lacking any of the required documents or those arriving after the deadline will not be processed.

THE START OF FELLOWSHIPS AND THEIR CONTINUATION
  • Fellowships must be started within 1 year after the allocation. Otherwise, the fellowship will be cancelled.
  • The fellows are monitored through study reports signed by the fellow and the coordinating scientist.
OBLIGATIONS
  • Depending on the total duration of the grant, fellows should send a “development report” about their research every 4 months. Also, fellows must submit a “final report” at the end of the scholarship period. All reports must be signed by both the co-working scientist(s) and the fellow.
  • If the development reports are delayed, the fellowship payments will be halted. If the fellow does not send development reports within 3 months from the date the payments are halted, fellowship may be cancelled by BIDEB’s Evaluation and Support Commission.
  • The support received from TÜBITAK must be clearly acknowledged in all publications concerning the study realised during the fellowship period. Copies of the publications (if any) concerning the work should also be sent to BIDEB.
  • The fellow is obliged to notify BIDEB about any other financial support he/she gets from an institution other than TUBITAK within 15 days from the beginning of the support. If the fellow is supported financially by another institution, the amount of future payments is decided by BIDEB’s Evaluation and Support Commission and the fellow may have to pay back to BIDEB.
  • If the fellow decides to leave before the end of the scholarship period, the fellow or his/her supervisor has to notify BIDEB 15 days prior to the departure. No payments will be made after the departure date. If any payments are made after the departure date, payback is required.
  • Fellows have to pursue their studies full-time during the fellowship period. If the Fellow leaves Turkey during the fellowship period, he/she is obliged to inform TUBITAK about the dates and duration of his/her visits abroad. If the visit does not exceed two weeks in each six months of the fellowship period, full stipend is continued. Otherwise, stipend is halted during the period of absence.
